Panelist: Brian McCauley, President & Chief Executive Officer
Since joining Concert in 1994, Brian has been involved with hands-on development management activities of Concert’s growing residential and income producing property portfolio.
In 2001, Brian guided Concert’s expansion in Ontario leading the development of assured rental housing in Toronto in joint venture with OMERS. Marking Concert’s 20th anniversary, Brian was named President on June 1, 2009. In June 2017, Brian assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and oversees the operations of Concert’s real estate activities across Canada.
Brian is Past Chair and current board member of the Urban Development Institute Pacific Region, a past director of BILD, and a current Board member of Junior Achievement BC. Brian is currently serving on the Governments of Canada and British Columbia Expert Panel on the Future of Housing Supply and Affordability.
Panelist: Ward McAllister, President & Chief Executive Officer
Ward, a fifth generation Vancouverite, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ledingham McAllister, one of BC’s most established and respected Developers. Through his 40 years of experience he has been involved in all facets of the development and construction industry. Ward establishes and manages the vision and objectives of the company, and has overall responsibility for acquisition, finance, design, approvals, construction and marketing of all Ledingham McAllister projects.
Ward is a Past President of U.D.I. Canada, Past President of U.D.I. (Pacific) for three terms and a Board member for over 20 years. He has received many awards and mentions for his contribution to the industry and the community. Ward is regarded as a chief spokesman for a wide variety of real estate matters as they pertain to the public and all levels of Government.
Panelist: Martin Rahn, Senior Vice President, Development & Innovation
Martin has been with the Bosa Family Companies since 2016 and currently holds the position of Design Innovation Executive. An executive contributor to company strategy and growth, his primary area of focus is pre-development, project visioning and product innovation. Formally trained in Architecture and Environmental Engineering Technology, Martin started his real-estate development career over two decades ago and has accumulated a wealth of international and local development experience ranging from multi-family projects in Canada and large-scale master plan developments in the Middle East. He has been involved in the completion of more than 6,000 residential housing units in Vancouver, Dubai and Qatar. In his international experience, he has played strategic and key senior roles in the development of some of the worlds largest and most complex master plan communities. Amongst some of the more celebrated master plans are Lusail City, Qatar’s largest mixed-use real-estate development, and the Canal District and Madinat Al Arab in the Dubai Waterfront development in Dubai. Since moving back to Vancouver in 2012, his focus has been to bring a unique international perspective to local projects.

Avtar is President of Premise Properties, where he is responsible for the overall business, including the origination and execution of long-term investment strategies.
Premise Properties is a boutique commercial real estate firm that leverages its experience and relationships to seek strategic investment and development opportunities. The firm is primarily focused on the acquisition and asset management of properties that generate consistently strong, stable, and growing cash flow. Since its inception, Premise Properties has completed transactions throughout Canada and the United States.
In addition to his role at Premise Properties, Avtar holds Board of Directors/Advisory positions with Aspen Properties, Morguard North American Residential REIT, The Peterson Group and UBC Properties Trust.
