Eugene Lundrigan

Eugene Lundrigan is Chief Operating Officer for Sun Life Investment Management Inc., responsible for the company’s strategy development, product, marketing,  client services and reporting functions.

Eugene has over 20 years of experience in financial services and an extensive background in investments, investment governance, strategy and marketing.

Following roles at the Bank of Canada, he joined Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (“Sun Life Assurance”) in 1997 and has held a range of senior level positions, including Senior Managing Director of Canadian Public Fixed Income, various leadership roles in wealth management, marketing and strategy in Asia, head of the International Investment Centre that manages Sun Life Assurance’s relationships with investment managers around the world, and most recently Vice-President, Strategy - Asset Management. Eugene has also served as the investments representative on  the pension plan committees of several Sun Life Assurance businesses.

Raised in Baie Verte, Newfoundland, Eugene has a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and an M.B.A. (Finance) from McMaster University. He is also  a CFA Charterholder and member of the Toronto CFA society.

Malcolm Leitch

Malcolm Leitch is Chief Operating Officer, Investment Management at Bentall Kennedy in Canada, with co-responsibility for overall portfolio strategy of the Prime Canadian fund and its property operations. In addition, he is responsible for promoting Bentall Kennedy to Canadian institutional investors, liaising with existing investors and raising new equity.  Since joining Bentall Kennedy, he has led the company in raising more than $8 billion of equity from Canadian pension funds for real estate investment.

Malcolm joined Bentall Kennedy in 1987. A Chartered Accountant, he previously worked for eight years with Coopers & Lybrand at its Vancouver and London, England offices.

Malcolm holds a degree in commerce and business administration (Dean’s Honour List) from the University of British Columbia.  After retiring from coaching his son’s hockey team and daughter’s baseball team, he has served on a number of “for-profit” and “not-for-profit” boards and recently became Chair of the Board of Directors of the Looking Glass Foundation which supports those impacted by eating disorders.


Phil Gillin

Phil Gillin is Senior Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, Canadian Property Investments for Sun Life Investment Management. He is a portfolio manager for Sun Life Canadian Commercial Mortgage Fund, with responsibility for the management and performance of the fund.

Phil is also Senior Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, Canadian Property Investments for the General Account of the Sun Life Financial Group of Companies, with responsibility for its large portfolio of Canadian commercial mortgages and real estate investments. In addition, Phil is the Chair of Sun Life Financial’s International Sustainability Council.

Phil has over 36 years’ experience in the property investment sector. He joined Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada in 1998 as Vice-President of Canadian Real Estate, overseeing the growth and enhancing the management of the portfolio, and was appointed as Senior Managing Director and Head of Canadian Real Estate in 2007. Phil’s responsibilities were expanded in 2012 to also include Canadian commercial mortgages. Prior to joining Sun Life Assurance Company, Phil managed the real estate assets at one of Canada’s largest retailers, and prior to that he with was one of North America’s largest real estate companies.

Phil speaks frequently on property investment topics and is very active in industry and community organizations. Among others, he is a member of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (known as NAIOP) and the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Real Estate Advisory Board of the Schulich School of Business..

Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business. He is also a Certified Management Accountant/Certified Public Accountant.
