The Mortgage Investment Association of British Columbia (MIABC) values you as a member, and respects your personal information.
Personal information is any information which identifies an individual, except for the name, title business address and telephone number of an employee of an organization. We request information such as your work fax number and work e-mail address when you or your company becomes a member of the MIABC, and when you enroll for various events hosted by the MIABC. We use such information as contact information, to inform you of MIABC events. If you do not wish to provide certain contact information, you are not required to do so. However, if the MIABC does not have complete contact information for you, you may not be notified of certain MIABC events. The MIABC keeps such information in a secure environment, and updates such information regularly for accuracy. Personal information is retained until it is apparent that the information is no longer accurate, at which time it is destroyed. At no time is any personal information of members disclosed to any third party.
If you choose to pay for MIABC events with a personal credit card, please be advised that your credit card information is recorded only for payment purposes, and is then kept in a secure environment for as long as is necessary to verify that the payment has been duly processed, and to fulfill legal record retention requirements. Such information is then destroyed.
Board members of the MIABC may be requested to provide additional contact information, such as home telephone number or cell number. Such information is requested in order to be able to contact board members on an urgent basis only.
