Dear Mr. Whitmarsh,

On the behalf of our members, I am writing to express our interest in understanding the current status of National Instrument 31-103 (NI-31-103)  Registration Requirement and Exemptions.

The Mortgage Investment Association of British Columbia (MIABC) was founded in 1917 and now includes over 450 individual members from 120 organizations that represent the mortgage lending investment community in British Columbia.  We are focused on providing our members with a forum for professional growth and information exchange.

NI 31-103 appears to have direct relevance to the mortgage investment industry in British Columbia and we want to be fully aware of and equipped to communicate information that might interest our members.  As further outreach is considered, we are able to offer the Ministry or its appropriate representatives an opportunity to address our membership directly.

We ask that you keep us informed of the status of NI 31-103 Registration Requirements and Exemptions, engage our organization in any future outreach effort, and communicate any briefings that would help our community better understand the implementation of NI 31-103.
